Intro:
We presented Assembled as a part of The University of Kentucky Department of Theatre and Dance’s performance event A Collective in Muse. This was a two-day performance event featuring five original student works. Assembled was a multi-disciplinary work using object performance (robots and puppets) to present an excerpt of Karel Čapek’s R.U.R. The goal was twofold. First to explore audience’s and performers’ reaction to interactions with the different objects. Second to explore the relevance of a play about robots written in the1920s in the modern age of AI.
