A roboticist and puppeteer fascinated with how humans interact with motion. Robots and puppets are synonyms in my eyes. Currently studying Electrical Engineering and Theatre Arts at the University of Kentucky with a focus on bridging the gap between creatives and technical students and professionals.
My interest in this intersection of art and engineering began when I was little. My mom took me to see a local puppetry troupe and I was hooked; I kept going back. After a few years in the audience, I began apprenticing at Peewinkle's Puppets in their Puppeteers in Progress (PIP) program. At the same time, I became fascinated with electronics and computers.
In high school, I began exploring the broader industry of technical theatre working primarily in audio and lighting. After the Covid Pandemic, I interned with a local summer stock company for two summers.
At college, I am double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Theatre Arts as my interests shifted back to motion. On the theatrical side, I am focused on scenic and properties design and technology with an emphasis in theatrical automation. On the Electrical Engineering side, I am focused on robotics, controls, and signal processing. Through my internships, I have gained experiences with many forms of robotics in a variety of environments.
